1 Days Murree Tour packages Brought to you by the BOP Adventure Club. Galiyat region is a narrow strip or area roughly 50–80 km north-east of Islamabad, Pakistan, extending on both sides of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa-Punjab border, between Abbott Abad and Murree.
The scenery is green and superb. Weather cool in summers and crisply cold in winter with a sprinkle of snow. The hotels are good, drive is easy and plenty of shopping make Murree hills the leading hill resort. Local legend traces the root of name Murree, to Marry (Hazrat Maryam). There is certainly a tomb on Pindi Point besides the PTV booster, of some non Muslim woman called either Marry or Maryam. The lush green hill stations of Bhurban & Nathiagali are the first choice for a weekend’s outing from Islamabad. An hour & half’s drive from Islamabad on a metal road takes you to 8,000 feet above sea level, the climate here is cool in summers and very cold in winters with heavy snowfall. Horse riding, Chair lift ride and short walks on paved trails are other activities to do when you are in Murree.
